| | | AtariAge Magazine ArchiveFans of early Atari systems were treated with several different
magazines and newsletters containing a wide variety of articles about games
for their favorite Atari system, interviews with the brains behind the games,
sneak peeks at games under development, and much more. Atari had the longest
running of these magazines, Atari Age (no relationship
to this website), which started with two black & white versions and then
graduated to a full-color magazine that ran for eleven issues. Activision and
Imagic both published newsletters for their fans, Activisions
and Numb Thumb News, respectively. And in the
late 80s, a new magazine called Atarian was created,
tailored to fans of the Atari 2600, 7800 and XE Game System, but unfortunately
it only lasted three issues. Atari and Activision also published magazines for
their fans overseas, in the form of the Atari Club
(Germany), Atari Owners Club Bulletin (UK) and
Activision Fun Club News (UK). If you're looking for Atari computer-related magazines, we highly
suggest taking a run over to the Classic
Computer Magazine Archive (hosted by AtariAge), where you'll find the complete
text to Antic Magazine, STart Magazine, and many others.

In addition to browsing the above archives with thumbnails, you
can also download the entire contents of each magazine, zipped up in either
high or low resolutions. Both are good for reading, but the higher-resolution
versions of each archive are better for printing. If you're on a low-bandwidth
connection, we will be glad to send you CDs or a DVD encompassing all the scans
for a nominal charge. Please write to us at editor@atariage.com
  for details. |
