Pete's Test Cartridge allows you to test various aspects of the Atari 5200. It includes two different video tests (one a gray scale pattern, the other a color bar pattern), and two screens for testing and calibrating the 5200 controllers. It's not known if this cartridge was used internally at Atari for testing, as Atari had an official Diagnostic Cartridge they used and sold. We don't even know how the cartridge got its name (if you know, please tell us!)
Only one of these cartridges is known to exist, contained in a normal Atari 5200 cartridge shell without a label. Thanks to CPUWIZ for providing us with the binary! |
