Based on the Bally Sente coin-op from 1984 and released for the 7800 in 1987, this is a top-down hockey game. Some critics slam Hat Trick, but its pick up and play approachability and easy to understand controls have to be praised. The most interesting facet of the game is that you actually control two players at once: One player skates around the ice and the goalie moves up and down and acts just like a pong paddle. The game comes complete with difficulty selections for the computer AI and a Zamboni to clean up your mess after the two minute game is over. (Contributed by Cousin Vinnie Vineyard) |
